then again, it is lovely out. . .

Bangkok's Independent Newspaper, The Nation, reported just this past Monday, Sept. 11, "There will be no coup in Thailand says PM", i guess no one was paying attention. at least the people with the tanks weren't anyway, they were just waiting for him to leave town. now, i'm not a supporter of the PM in any way, in fact he's responsible for some fuckin' dodgey shit, but i'm also not very much a fan of military coups. . . it'll be interesting to see how this unfolds. . . Mr. Bedell, any news from the north??

well....dunno. Saw some soldiers with M16 walking around Chiang Mai. No tanks. I guess all those are in BKK.
Apparently it is two weeks until they appoint a prime minister, and then the elections come a year after.
Thaskin is a prick, like Bush but wioth more money and more control of the media, etc. (I am sure Bush and Cheney used to cream their pants dreaming of having powers like him) so I don't care that the guy is gone. He is criminal #1 in my book, but yeah, military coups suck, right? hopefully they will turn things over the way they say they will....I think in the end the country has too much to lose in terms of tourism and trade to not remain stable and semi-democratic. Well, shall see.
